making music with my best friends is one of the highlights of my life. be sure to check out the greshville inn tonight at 9. wouldn’t be possible without orin strunk and jeremy green. thanks fellas, for everything.
breaking news! johnny hazel and friends will be playing live this friday night at frecon’s hard bean cafe! for the first time in the history of ever we will be playing the whole show as a full band. that’s right my friends, four times the awesomeness and four times the friskiness. if you aren’t up to anything this friday night or if your plans aren’t that cool please come on down to the bean for this monumental event. your life won’t be the same. special thanks to jimmy leibensperger, orin strunk, and jeremy green for their hard work being my “friends”, even if i do have to pay them for me to call them that.
I’ve met people I look up to before. But Monday something crazy happened. I knew I loved Matt Nathanson and his music, but I didn’t realize how crazy that night would be. Not only did one of my best friends Jeff get us tickets to see him at a secret “mailing list only” show but we got to meet Matt himself after wards. He is exactly as he presents himself on stage, completely grounded and ridiculously funny. If anything ever comes of my music, it’s exactly how I want to present my self. He was so down to earth and personable and that honestly blew me away. Not to mention that his songs were ridiculous and that night he was so on. So Matt, you’ll probably never read this but thanks for making some small town kids night. You’re an inspiration for an aspiring artist and I hope we get to meet up sometime soon.
Today Was Insane. As An Artist When You See Something Come To Fruition It’s A Feeling Like No Other. It Was The First Time I Took 2 Of My Songs And Made Them Into Something More Than The Singer/Songwriter Style. Two Of My Very Best Friends And Also Extremely Talented Musicians Orin Strunk and Jeremy Green Added Their Musical Gifts To My Songs And Let Me Tell You, They Have Become Something More Than I Could Have Ever Imagined. If You’re Around June 4th, Check Out Frecon’s Hard Bean Cafe And You Can Experience These Jams And Others LIVE! It’s Sure Going To Be A Doozey, Not To Mention We Are Yet To Add Jimmy Leibenspergers Piano Playing Into The Mix. It’s Gonna Be Awesome, Just Like The Old Times. That’s All For Now.
I Realized Today That I Never Wrote About Last Weekend. First Off, I Want To Thank Everyone Who Came Out And Showed Their Support. It Was Great To See All Of You And I Hope You Enjoyed Watching As Much As I Enjoyed Performing. It’s Going To Sound Cliche But It Was A Dream Come True To Perform For A Bunch Of People All By My Self. I Never Thought I Would Have The Guts To Do It But As Some Of You Saw, I Surprised My Self And Did. It Was A Feeling I’ll Never Be Able To Put Into Words But Please Know I Am Eternally Grateful For The Support You All Showed Me. Some Of You Also Might Have Heard That I Am Currently Working On An EP Over At High Street Music Company. I Decided To Name It Leap Of Faith And It’s Going To Have 5 Original Tracks On It. 1. Silly Willy 2. Songbirds 3. Come Back To Me 4. Maybe 5. On You Floor. As Soon As I Get It Mixed And Put Together, I’ll Be Sure To Get It Up Here For You To Listen To. I’m Anxious To Get Your Feedback. If You Can Make It Out To A Live Show (Which I’m Currently Working On Lining Up) And Mention That You Saw This Post About The EP On Here, I May Give You A Free One (Cha-Ching)! Anyway, That’s About All For Now. Hope Everyone Is Doing Well And That You Have A Beautiful Weekend.
It Feels So Surreal. I’ve Been Promoting My Solo Debut For Like 2 Months Now And Have Been So Excited For It. Then Last Night As I’m Sitting At Home Relaxing With One Of My Best Friends It Hit Me, “Holy Crap! It’s Here!” Tonight’s It. Tonight Is The Night That I’ve Been Waiting For. As My Nerves Are Rushing And My Energy Is At An All Time High I Am Reminded As To Why I Love Making Music. This Crazy Feeling Is Something That I Absolutely Love. I Love Feeling The Endorphins Rush Through Me Making Me Almost Feel Electric. I Love The Spontaneity Of A Live Show. I Love Being Able To Sing Songs That I’ve Created From An Idea In My Mind. It Is A Ridiculous Feeling That I Recommend All Of You Try At Least Once. If You Don’t Like It That’s Fine, But I Feel As Though You May Find Some Beauty In It. So, Here’s To All Of You Who Are Coming Out Tonight. I Hope I Put On A Great Show For You And That My Music Touches Your Hearts. I Hope You Really Enjoy The Performance And Let Me Know That You Did. If You Didn’t, I’m Also Anxious To Hear Why. Any Bit Of Criticism Helps (Unless You’re A Jerk, Then Keep Your Bad JuJu To Your Self). But Anyway, Thanks Everyone For Supporting This Dream I Have. I Only Hope It Continues On This Trend. I Hope Everyone Is Doing Well And Is Praying For Those Affected By The Tsunami. It’s A Crazy Reminder Of How Small We All Really Are.
Love To All,
Heading Out In An Hour Or So To Have My First “Experience” In A Recording Studio. I’m Mildly Intimidated And Mostly Nervous. The Technology These Days Blows My Mind But At Any Rate I’m So Stoked For This Opportunity. I Would Highly Recommend The High Street Music Company To Any Person Looking To Record Your Musical Ideas. The Guys And Gals Back There Are Pretty Rad And Know What They Are Talking About, Which Is A Plus. I’ll Be Sure To Keep You All Informed With How It’s Going. That’s All For Now. Hope Everyone Out There Is Doing Well.
